I am writing to update you on how we are doing this year.  We started the year by winning the local "Sprint Races."  This was a series of 9 short races in one day and the winner was determined by who won the most starts.  We are still consistently one of the first boats over the line in the other races, too.  Looks like the day we spent on starts has really paid off.  In our local harbor series we have earned two 1st places and two 2nd places.  This is a small series, but it looks like we have a lock on winning the first series of the year.  We are working hard to increase participation in the series.  We even created a series website. By the way, we have beaten our closest competitor, a Cat 38, four times in a row.  To put this in perspective, in the last four years we have only beat this boat once! I imagine there are a lot of factors that have combined for our success so far this year. I did a lot of work on the bottom and I bought a new 155 genoa, but there is no doubt that the racing class you taught has been the biggest factor of them all. B.S. California

Thanks for the info on the 92S.  A rating change is not likely in our future, hence our trip to J World.  I cannot thank you enough for your efforts in expanding my, and my crew's racing and sailing techniques.  We will be approaching our next few races with a new outlook and a new arsenal of weapons, which, I'm sure will get us around the course more efficiently.  We expected quality instruction from J World and we got it; we did not expect the Southern hospitality you and your crew extended to us throughout our stay in San Diego.  A sincere thanks from all of us to all of you.  J.H. Just wanted to thank you again for great time sailing.  I think you do an excellent job with instruction and the girls remarked about your very positive reinforcement methods to help build confidence.  It's obvious we need lots of practice, but at least you provided us with the fundamentals we need to get moving.  We would like to improve from the two thirds we took in two series last season, and I think the girls would like show-up some of the men in the fleet.
