1. Why was J World voted "Best sailing school in America"?
Practical Sailor, the "Consumer Reports" of the sailing industry, recently compared the major sailing schools in the US. Their rankings were based on responses from hundreds of students who attended the respective sailing schools. J World received the highest ratings of all the schools examined. In fact, they said "In the 1991 survey, J World won the highest ratings for its fleet of new high-performance style boats, their challenging courses and adept instructors. Years later, they are still the best in the business." |

| 2. How is J World different from other sailing schools?
J World San Diego emphasizes sailing more than classroom work. We believe that sailing needs to be learned on the water. We also use the most modern sailboats and equipment available. Add to that the best possible year round weather and you have a perfect combination. |

3. What do you mean by "Performance Sailing School"?
We feel that all our classes starting from the basic “Learn to Sail” all the way to “Advanced racing” or “Live aboard” perform the outstanding results you are looking for. They make sailing more fun and safer for you and your crew. |

4. Is J World San Diego just for racers?
Not at all. Actually most of our classes are attended by people that never sailed before and want to learn it the right way, from the start. So whether you have never set foot on a sailboat, want to learn cruising, or just want to sail your own boat better, we have a sailing class for you. |

5. Does J World San Diego offer sailing classes for women only?
Most classes are taught and shared in a co-ed environment, under careful instruction by both women and men who are skilled at creating a productive and enjoyable sailing environment. Our classes typically have a 60/40 male-to-female ratio. However if you prefer a customized program we can certainly arrange one. |

6. How many people are on each boat?
For the Learn to Sail class we place a maximum of four students plus an instructor on each boat to guarantee the best teacher/student ratio. This will keep it comfortable for everyone and give you plenty of time at the tiller each day. |

7. Is J World San Diego just for J Boat owners?
Not at all. Most J World San Diego students sail boats other than J Boats. We use J Boats because we believe they are the finest teaching platforms available. They are highly responsive, safe, stable, and so much fun to sail! |

8. What is the average age of J World students?
Our students' average age ranges between 20 and 50, but we have taught students from 12 to 80+ years old. We only require for the scheduled courses that students are fit to handle the planned class time on the water. |

10. Why only offer US SAILING certifications?
US SAILING offers the only non-profit sailing certification system in the US, thereby guaranteeing rigorous standards uncompromised by profit motives. These standards are the only ones that come close to the ones we set for ourselves and our students at J World San Diego. |

11. What should I bring to class?

12. Do we sail in bad weather?
San Diego has year round near perfect weather conditions. We do have some very occasional showers in the Spring but that doesn’t keep any sailor from taking their boat out for a spin in the harbor or the Pacific Ocean. |

13. What boats are we using?
We use only the best and newest boats available on the market: J/80, J/105, J/120. They are the best platform to teach you the skills you always wanted to learn. Furthermore, they all are keelboats, meaning that they are build for maximum stability, safety and fun. |

15. Do you guarantee results?
Our goal at the J World San Diego Sailing School is to exceed your expectations. But if, for any reason, it does not and you are dissatisfied with a sailing course you have taken, you may retake it tuition free. We at J World San Diego all share your desire to improve your sailing performance, and that's absolutely guaranteed. |
